The Inaugural Leadership Circle Met in September 2008

In a classic boardroom setting high atop the National Press Club building in Washington, DC, a select group of industry leaders enjoyed the first Leadership Circle gathering.

The group was promised serious authoritative speakers, and Knight Kiplinger, president of Kiplinger Washington Editors, set the standard for future Leadership Circle meetings with an informative, humorous, and forward-thinking presentation.

The Leadership Circle

In July 2008, select industry leaders were invited to become founding members of the newly established Leadership Circle of the DMAW Educational Foundation. The circle was created for two reasons:

1. To provide a quarterly forum for a small group of influential leaders in the direct marketing industry to meet and hear from one another.

2. To provide ongoing financial support for the Educational Foundation's work, including the Professor's Institute, the Academic Advisory Council, the DM Speaker's Bureau, regional career days, the Collegiate MAXI competition, and our host of awards (the O'Hara Leadership Award, the Sisk Award, the Swain scholarship, etc.).

Leadership Circle membership is restricted to senior managers and is individual, rather than corporate. Circle members attend four luncheons per year at the National Press Club. Each meeting will feature a speaker of strong interest to the direct marketing community.
